Meet Cheryl
For over a decade, Commissioner Cheryl Williams has been fighting for the taxpayers of Collin County at the courthouse. During her tenure in office, she’s held the line on the county budget, reduced the tax rate by 38 percent, and created a transparent and accessible county government that serves the citizens, not the other way around.
Born into an entrepreneurial family and raised with a hard work ethic, Cheryl followed in her parents’ footsteps by creating her own small business that was dedicated to providing specialized services to travel agencies that included auditing, acquisition analysis, training and personnel recommendations. She later worked with her husband, Don, operating three retail insurance agencies as well as a Managing General Agency.
Prior to serving on Commissioner’s Court, Cheryl was elected three times to the Plano City Council and was elected by her colleagues to serve as Mayor Pro Tem. She also served her neighbors on the Southwood Estates HOA, served on the PTA of the schools her children attended, and was a member of the Plano East Senior High, School-Based Improvement Committee.
Cheryl graduated with a B.B.A. in Finance and Economics from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She and Don live in the Sherrill Park neighborhood in Richardson. They have two sons and four grandchildren.
Commissioner Cheryl Williams is delivering a county government that is lean and efficient, and one that provides the basic services you expect while keeping your tax burden low. There is still much to do, so please sign up below and help re-elect our conservative commissioner.
